Congruent Ventures is a silicon-valley venture capital firm who invests in various climate and bio-technology companies. They wanted a brand-new look and set of features for their website. Partnering with another designer, I developed an API-Integrated database content management system for their new site, and built each responsive page. I was also responsible for optimization.

A Full Website Rebrand
Congruent Ventures had just undergone a vibrant rebrand thanks to the work of designer Lisa Lotito. Lisa reached out to me and informed me that the company needed a new website to go along with the brand, and this site came with several technological requirements, one of which involving a seamless connection to a database. It was clear that typical website building tools wouldn’t be sufficient for what was needed.

Fully Automated Database Integration
In our discovery session, we learned Congruent managed all of their news articles and portfolio companies in a private database, and needed to move forward with that system. They also needed the ability to run and manage a blog which automatically connect to their portfolio companies and articles.
It became clear the solution that would work best for the client was CMS functionality, with an API connecting their database and the website. A publish function would be developed so that they could easily add new companies and news articles to their database and create pages from the content with the click of a button. They also needed filtering and tagging capabilities on their portfolio page allowing a user to sort and filter by different groups and tags. The items on this page needed to be automatically populated and grouped accordingly.
